So this is the real V3.
Nice overall improvements but yes sadly no CHS
The CHS will never happen again unless a complete movement replication.

Yhe last time they did it , it was ghetto rigged and thats why the hands were popping off everyone's watches. Can't just reglue settings.

I did tell him to take it off before his daily parkour practice.
It looks like he did not take my advice. :legend:
Is it possible to remove the white dial completely as am after v3 but don't like the fact its not CHS. I don't think v2 is a wise choice as having it glued to hour hand at 90 degrees seems to create a lot of issues with hands coming off etc.
Thanks for any guidance.

i'm buying the CHS V3 through Jtime, it is custom so will take a month to get QC photos. Will post once i do, this is my second replica watch. My first was a Tag i bought in Dubai, which was decent quality but the strap push pin broke and then it was very evident it was a mid-grade fake.

Hopefully things are improving with build quality on the Perpetual Calendar, because i love this watch and it has been a dream to own it. I can honestly pretty much afford what the MSRP was at 93k USD, but this stupid watch market has made this watch 3x the price to buy USED. That's what led me to the replica market. I swear i'd pay 5-10k for one that was pretty close to the real thing movement aside, it's a shame that the moonphase is fuzzy and parts are falling off. For the price this costs and how good it LOOKS, i am willing to take the risk.

You might want to consult our AP connoisseur @legend about the modding possibilities of this watch.

Really, i would love to know what is possible @legend . Money is not the issue. Reducing the thickness, better HD quality moonphase wheel, and more accurate dial including white gold parts would all be great. I'm willing to invest in this piece to make it as close to gen as possible, given that im a simple watch guy and only wear 1 (I've been wearing my one and only watch for 8 years now).

What..... a.......rollercoaster. I sat read through this entire thread in one sitting after finding @NotIansIdea other thread stating he would post updates here. The glee of this watch being announced early in the thread, the QC images coming through... The bent minute hand 😬. The initial second ticking week hand. September 2021 was indeed a saga all in its own right.

But imagine my disappointment of getting all the way to the end to find that realistically we were further away from a reliable rep than where we began. With the more recent members who have pulled the trigger, having their watches fall apart almost instantly.

Does anyone know of another thread with more up to date information or have any ideas if the rep game got any better? I will never be a £100,000+ watch guy, but this watch..... Is my grail! I especially love the John Mayer. Does anyone know if this has been replicated?

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated. @legend

I'm wearing my APSF on my wrist as I write this, and it's in the same shape as it was the day I got it. It keeps time extremely accurately, and it may be more reliable (e.g., not falling apart) since I got the GMT modded version and others just got the straight out-of-the-box ICHS version.

There are still no scratches on my watch since it's legit ceramic, and the thing looks brand new when I give the bracelet a wash. I rarely get compliments from strangers on my watches, but virtually all the compliments I get are for this piece.

The two downsides:
  1. The moonphase, as always, is fuzzy, which is an instant tell if you're looking for it.
  2. The power reserve is hilariously poor. Like, it'll stop ticking if you don't wear it for ~6-8 hours. If you want to wear this watch in a rotation with other pieces from your collection and not deal with pulling the crown in and out over and over, you really need a watch winder.

Hey @NotIansIdea! Thank you for the detailed response! Amazing that it's still looking like new! Shame about the power reserve though. Although, if you're using it regularly, atleast this won't be a problem.

Amazes me that this watch never got an "upgrade" to be more like gen. Perhaps I'll hold out until a JM version is available as the ceramic scares me!

Thanks again

Hmm actually, power reserve of 6 hours would cause watch to be stopped during the sleep.

@NotIansIdea Does the rotor spin 360 degress? it might be rotor issue. (Which mught be a easy fix)

I would to buy a AP Calendar Perpetual, which version ?
BBR factory closed and resumed as BBS so you would go for BBS for non ceramic as it has correct hand stack and manual week of year hand (not used as seconds hand like current APSF).

For ceramic APSF is the way to go, current version has ICHS and uses the week of year as seconds hand - if you can find an older CHS or modded version that would be the best here.

Read up on how to interact with TDs.
You can find contact information for the TDs in the TD section in the forum. Just hit some up Whatsapp or Telegram and ask them if they can source one for you.

The TDs can source way more than is on their websites. Sometimes they only add a watch once they ordered and QCed one with QC pictures.
