I've been drooling over some of the royal oaks posted for sale some modded big bucks. I want a thin Blue dial. This one from zf looks good.

One do they still make them two what are the main issues from people that have owned them.

No issues. You could get the 15202 which is the identical non-anniversary normal model. Date change is a pain as it’s not a quick set (as in the gen)

Yeah it’s the Miyota slow date change but that’s an easy fix you can take to Legend if you’re not against doing any mods

Ok so again not sure which model are you both talking about. Are you saying get the 16202 has not date quick change but 15202 does have it. So get the 16202 send to legend. Does he do the slimming of case mod?

I would personally get the 16202, it’s thinner than 15202 but both are a decorated 9015 Miyota. Instant date change mod will be needed for both. He should be able to do case thinning as well, ask about it to confirm.

Is it really? Interesting. Gen 16202 is thinner from what I’ve seen and the TD sites are showing 15202 is 8.6mm and 16202 is 8.3mm. Gen 16202 is 8.1mm though.

That being said, about the date change the 16202 has updated movement, but the 15202 (rep and gen) had a hack that you can just advance a few hours, go back and advance again and the date would change. It does not affect the movement.

What I hopefully can add to this conversation is that the quick set date mod is well worth it. Although I went with the 15202 option instead of the 16202, I added the quick set date change mod and wow it is a world of difference. It's such a convenient function that I wish I had on my franken build. Heck, earlier today I had to use the flip-between-10pm-and-2am trick to set the date correctly on my franken 15202 and I thought "wow I wish I had the instant date change"

According to Daytona dude no. But the Gen 15202 does not have it either. I'm not bothered by that. Just the lume on the xs is so off it would kill me. I would need to mod before I wear. New 16202 would pass the casual wrist check out of the box.

And that’s why I like the 16202 better haha, I see people go back and forth with working to change the date and I start to lose it if I watch them long enough

Actually the date change on the gen works by moving the date past 0000 for the initial date change, and then back to 2100 and then back to 0000hrs each time for a date advancement. It’s a hassle you’re right.

The rep 16202 can be modded to have a quickset date via the crown as well.
