As a long term seller of watches on eBay, I feel disgusted that someone can actually submit this listing and write such a poor effort of a description and hope to get away with it! I think I will ask him a question as a potential bidder and see what the reply is?

Imagine a world without mechanical watches...... My worst nightmare.

Go for it. I just could not even bring myself to write anything, I was just so disgusted. It makes so little sense I could not even formulate a question. I am just avoiding like the plague.

Was it different before?
Positioning of the HE valve, dial, red seconds hand tip, bracelet and the detailed description of the low battery mode look ok to me. It´s the original Brosnan-Bond Golden Eye Omega Seamaster 300M Quartz Professional
Most probably it will become a much sought-after collectible in the distant future as it´s discontinued, has the well-known look and enough pictures with the actor wearing it. It´s not an off-the-shelf quartz either, maybe one of the last of it´s species... From what I´ve seen prices have increased by 30%-40% from one year ago. This one seems low-priced in comparison if it has the service-proof etc.

Edit: missed the post about the card etc., nowadays I wouldn´t buy on ebay anyway

Yep I am beginning to think that way myself. The problem is when a 2531. or even a 2541, comes up in an AD in Ireland it does not last long. I have a jeweler friend searching for one for me, but nothing so far. I have seen some bad reps. or just badly treated watches being pawned on Ebay. I wish I was in the US as then buying from exceloman would be an option. Importing them into the EU has such a high premium. It does not make it worth it.

He says he bought the watch from Watches of Switzerland in the description but I doubt very much he would have been given the wrong card for the watch! . Even the serial on the case is different. The whole listing doesn't sit right with me. I have sent a message to the seller, but nothing heard back so far.

Imagine a world without watches..... my worst nightmare!

Yeah I did the right thing and informed him of his error. He did not even have the courtesy to respond. Needless to say I will not be buying it even though it does look like a gen. 2541.

I noticed the 2531.80 error immediately. I picked up a gen over a year ago and i've seen the price go up at least 25% since, so i'm always looking for new ones to grab as an investment piece, lol. I wonder what his excuse is going to be

Some poor soul will no doubt pay out alot of money for that watch. . I've studied it closely and find the detailing on the case back looks rather poor and sways me to think it's a rep being passed as a genuine Omega. That and the fact that I have also sent the seller a question asking about the watches service history and last battery change with no response after 3days.

Imagine a world without watches..... my worst nightmare!

It looks good to me I do not know a rep that good, Unless its a franken on closed factory/or SMPc case. Which would be kind of worth £700 except for the quartz movement. Everything is where it should be. The dial is like new though so maybe some work was done there. CGs look rounded correctly, HeV in correct position. The CB may have been damaged from polishing but I would agree it does not look great.

He responded to me.

"Hi

Thanks for your question. You are quite right.

I have become aware that there is problem with the International Warranty card supplied with the watch.

It is actually for a different watch!

I have taken it back to the original suppliers who have admitted liability for this and have sent the watch back to Omega for them to issue a letter of authenticity, but as this will take a three of four weeks to arrive I will have to withdraw this item for the time being.

I will re-list it as soon as I have the document.

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Thanks for your interest in this item.

Regards"
