Any of you guys tested your Pam's for water resistance lately? If so just wandering what sort of numbers you came up with?

I'm really interested in this... Especially the sub 250 usd Chinese pressure testers on ebay. Would be good to know what the members thoughts are on these... Are they worth it?

OP: I have never pressure tested any of my Pams but I have done a few diver models for various members and as far as the divers go all have passed with no worries.

TDR: cheap pressure testers are a gamble mate, I know Watchbitz do a QC on each of the testers they sell before it even leaves China (they have a buyer there to ensure quality control on products). Offshore purchased and tested several different testers most of which looked identical from the outside before finding one that not just passed QC but continued to give good service when put to use here in Oz.

Like all his tools the tester spent a period of use in a working environment with a watchmaker before being listed on his site. I know this because I have been one of the watchmakers to do said testing. I use my WB water tester at least a dozen times a week and have done so for well over a year with no issues so for a home user it is already proven that it will last a lifetime.

No worries mate. It's the same with all the Chinese tools.
For example the deluxe screwdriver set watchbitz sells, the one with the revolving stand.
OS had seven samples sent over, all looked exactly the same and were priced within a dollar of each other but the quality ranged from utter crap to near Swiss. The ones we chose of cause were the near Swiss. Even them OS had them supply gen Swiss made blade sets in place of the TW made ones.

The point is that visually and dollar wise you couldn't tell them apart but the quality difference was huge. Everything from China and even the stuff he gets from Korea (who make very high quality tools) needs to be checked and tested before it's listed as you just don't know what you have got otherwise. Get the right stuff and it's great but you need to see and use it before you know. In a lot of cases the best is not the most expensive either, we have tested sets at twice the dollar value that are not as good as the ones he stocks and same applies to water testers. More expensive units have failed in weeks while the he stocks just soldiers on.

I tore down my 390, greased all the gaskets and changed them. Was able to test it all the way up to 10 bar, which is the highest the machine goes at where I work.
