I've spent the last 15 minutes on a day when I don't have the time to figure this out -- I can't find too many watches from the 90's that had a moonphase at 12 (I assume that's what that is??). The only likely candidates I've found are Peugeot, Piaget, and Christopher Ward, but can't confirm dates of manufacture. I may have a case on my hands for this evening ...
More googling pegs it as a quartz moonphase by Gruen.
Being quartz, it seems to fit George's personality perfectly.

I haven't watched Seinfeld in a LONG time, hope that caught the tone properly.
Are you going to go out and buy one of those? They're surprisingly pricey.
Yeah my girlfriend is re-watching them now, and I noticed he was wearing a different watch. And nope, was just wondering what it was!
