I own a couple Pan reps .... they look great, but their water resistency SUCK! Anybody else have this problem, or was I just really unlucky?

With lubed gaskets and a properly seated crystal the Pams are pretty good really...

Condensation forms under the crystal after cleaning with soap and water .... all my other reps can take a bath w/o any problems .... needless to say, I only give them a mild sponge bath now. Anyway, thanks for your replies ....

i swim with my EL daylight, in pools, ocean, no problem ever and i never had it waterproofed..

I just assumed no rep was waterproof. Have I then been excessively paranoid? Are they waterproof out of the box? ow do you test them?

i dont know if they are but usually u shouldnt do it but i have had this EL daylight since 05, so what the hell,lol

There has been a diy pressure tester here (built out of a bottle and a pump) or buy a pressure tester from Offshore or go to a watch shop and shell out the 10 Euro for testing. You see, plenty of possibilities, yay.

FWIW, I would not simply assume ANY rep is water resistant...

also depending on if it has chrono push buttons or not, screw crown or not, cg lever pressing firm toward crown, etc etc.
