Those prices are freaking ridiculous....

I agree. If these pieces are legit and authentic, the only people I can fathom paying those prices are people that are trying to put together a franken to pass off and sell as a gen.

Who knows though...

You could buy it, make a casting and make of it reps all day. From looking at it closer the lettering might be stamped which means creating a stamp tool, not a cheap process. Still its a gorgeous little piece of metal. Three grand is tough, at that point you're half way there to buying a full gen.

Gotta love that crown though!

It looks like an aftermarket jobbie to me, though. Not hard to stamp the letters these days. What's missing to be a true Panerai-era Rolex crown is a Swiss cross in the middle. I don't think it's real McCoy. 8)

At 3k - it's a bargain

I wondered about that, too, babola.

Though, I don't know enough about the vintages to know if they ever made those gen without the cross.

Rolex movement
is it a ljoke ?
The movement is a cortebert with a bridge cut by the seller, it's not the correct rolex bridge, it look ridiculous.
a correct price will be 300usd , not 3000 !
a real cortebert without this horrible mod look more nice , or even a 40usd molnija !
