It is a real challange to wash the AR side of the crystal! it either drys and leaves water spots or you wipe it off and leave smears!

I have found that washing it and shaking it dry down to the last couple of drops and then wicking the last couple drops off with a good kitchen towl works pretty good.

Have you tried a lense cleaning cloth or a jewelry microfiber cloth. Either should do the job.

Wash it and then use canned air to blow off all of the water.

or use leaner and lense cloth made for high end sunglasses

You'll need a crystal press and some skill. Just send it back to him for a replacement. Much cheaper and less chances of you screwing up an otherwise perfectly good watch? Just a thought.

The crystal on my 195 was also dirty, and I had a hard time cleaning it, while it was pressed into the case.

I ended up removing the crystal from the case, cleaned it, then pressed it back onto the case. Pressing the crystal back on, is not as hard as it looks.

Buy a good tool, and you should be ok.

At the same time, when I had the watch apart, I also greased all the orings, and replaced the split oring in the crown tube.

The watch is water resistant enough, I used it sailing and swimming this whole weekend, in and out of the ocean without a problem.

Enzo >>there are people in this world that collect Beanie Babies, in the original sealed package; that's why this is such a fun place to play, the diversity of human behaviour.

That is so true....different people is different behaviour ..I was like that before..Im affraid of my watches getting any scratches...but my dad told me...why not ..otherwise ..you dont have to wear it ..and put it in a musuemm..LOL so after that .I dont really care more about any scratches on my watches .. I love to see all my dad's watches have a lot of scratches..as if ..they goo by time...not like freezzeee on time ..Like my watches before LOL ...

and the fun part is ..I know every single scratches on my watches...they have their own history and memory ..that is so cool ...

I have a bad scratches on my montblanc timewalker ..while i was in Salzburg Austria..but till now ..everytime i seee the scratches on that watch ..it give a memory about what happen and that beutiful place..I love salzbburg..really nice place ..:)

Can you recommend a good crystal press that is well priced?

If I may ask, where did you get the orings from? I have had a tough time finding these. It would be nice to get a few different sized ones.

Many thanks!

I bought the crystal press from http://www.ofrei.com

The particular model I bought was:

Large Horotec Screw Type Press For Mineral Glass

As for the orings, Davidsen sent me a replacement, after I said that mine had been split, and I needed to replace it.
