Hey guys, awhile ago I posted a thread on upgrading my pam187G with A7753 movement to an ETA 7753. Well as it turns out the A7753 is not a 1:1 with the ETA7753 so the date wheel did not fit and the new davidsenjpn datewheel while fitting the movement did not fit the date window.
Sooooo, does anyone know of or have any experience with successfully upgrading any super rep status pam to an ETA7753? As of now I have an unused ETA 7753 and it's killing me with no watch to put it in.

Sell it.
Like you just said - A7753 and ETA (Valjoux)7753 are different.

Why can't you get someone to print you a custom date wheel? Why isn't that an option. There has to be a simple answer why this can't happen. Otherwise some one woul have offered it up by now.

That would be great but I can't seem to find anyone that does that. I would appreciate any help.

see http://www.2geek.net/eMart/index.php?c=21&p=74

cheers..

why doesnt the davidsen datewheel line up with the date window of the pam 187G? do you have any pics?

For some reaso not all the numbers line up in the date window. The spacing might be off. Here is the link to my original upgrade post

Yeah I also thought about 2 geek but he's not a trusted seller anymore so I went with davidsenjpn. At this point I don't want to shell out another $100 to see if it might fit.

I saw your upgrade post.. I think the new 196I or 356O from josh might just do the trick.. date window seems able to fit the datewheel.. its just taking a chance on the rep hands.. but the 196I claims to be fully compatible.. cheers..

Thanks,
I think for now I will stick to finished swiss upgrades like Vac's 243 and Marlin's 217/127 until one of the modders can confirm for sure an upgrade is possible.
Thanks!

It seems that the problem really lies with the rep 187 Asian dial's date window.

The only way to get a perfect fit on an existing rep model would be to use the ETA7753 with both datewheel and hands from DSN.

The newly updated noob-factory chronos models released in July 2013 such as the 162F, 224H, 196I and 250K will work as the date window are 1:1 to the gen.

after much research, I decided to ditch the 356O idea as it is unlikely that the handset from the A7753 will fit the ETA7753 without some seriously skilled broach-work..

for now I have my eyes set on modding the new 188I and have gotten the parts from DSN..
