I love the look mechanical digital watches they combine the practicality of a digital watch with the class and analog feel of normal watches. The Movements are usually very unique but are there any of this kind that have been repped? There are some on sketchy websites but I haven’t seen a trusted dealer have them yet.
Here are some examples of the jumping hour and minute watches:

I love this complication as well and I’m surprised we haven’t seen something close (even if it’s “rolling” instead of “jumping”). In the gen world, there’s a ton of quartz cheapies, a bunch of mid-grade jumping hour watches (Omega, Chronoswiss, Genta, etc.) and then the big boys you listed.

My limited understanding of the jumping complication is that it’s a huge power drain on the movement— meaning that if you tried putting common rep movements to power it, you’d be winding it every 12 hours. Regardless, it would be a lot of fun to see!!

I have seen only one "rolling" rep I didn't know what to call that the Sevenfiday M&2 the rep uses the same movement as the og and emulates the manufacturer twists apparently nwbg. They are nice but not quite as refined as some of the examples I mentioned but then again those are in the hundreds of thousands of dollar range.

As for having to wind so often I was under the assumption nowadays power reserves even in reps is pretty high is the minute jumping feautre that high energy a drain?

Supposedly. As a metric, most reps have a consistent power reserve of 36-48 hours. There are some outliers, but that’s a reasonable expectation. In theory, that should be enough to cover the “drain” for half given a worst-case scenario or ~24 hours.

I had a good friend and someone I consider an aficionado explain the jumping hours complication like this: in your car, the alternator acts as a recharging mechanism for your battery allowing for a free flow of electricity to your car’s components; with this complication, the gear train is constantly anticipating a click every 60 minutes instead of every minute and that stress drags the movement.

I get that to a degree, but I’m also thinking about a snap date function, which in my mind would stress the movement even more given that line of thinking. I’m not a movement expert and don’t claim to be smarter than the average bear. I can, however, cook you one helluva quiche, so show up on Saturday and take my commentary with a grain of salt haha.
