genuine panerai bracelets aren't designed to actually fit on models other then they were designed for, gen or rep. The expert part on this is only info gathered on paneristi.com forums years ago when trying to get a gen old style bracelet on my gen k series 176 and being told by many many people that knew more then me?, that the lugs on the gen bracelet models were slightly different to hold the bracelet. Brilliant chart: Bracelet models accept bracelets and straps. Non-bracelet models accept straps but can't handle the bracelet. OK it wasn't a chart. My word isn't gospel, but i've found those risti folks pretty knowledgeable and helpful over the years. I recommend their forums for gen knowledge you can use and apply to reps/gens/whatever.

I'm not a panerai must be on a strap guy, but would hate to see you shell out the cheddar if it doesn't work. Though the price on that bracelet is like a fifth of what they were five years ago, so it might be worth the try if you've got the cash and don't mind reselling if it doesn't work out.

i think the reason it might not fit is actually if you look at the SEL's they have little support jawns that need to be carved out on your pam to fit properly. If you go through it definitely post because I'd like to hear about it.

very useful info .follow the lead and found the info on paneristi.

indeed old style bracelet will only fit pam which were meant to be mounted on bracelet . the little tabs on the bracelet will prevent use on a non bracelet pam.
unless the end link are replaced with micro adapters . which already seemed hard to get in 2009.... essentially end links without the tabs ..

following that train of ifo i am wondering is the new bracelet could fit as it hasnot got any tabs on the end link....

JUst got pictures of gen old and new style bracelet on a reputable second hand watch website

so indeed with old bracelet grooves are carved out on the watch lugs ,

new bracelet hasnot got any little flaps so should fit in theory..

I'm glad to see you're looking further into it. Looking at those pictures I would think the new style bracelet doesn't have the cut out on the lugs because of the change from a proper screw holding on the bracelet/strap to the quick release system (or whatever it's called.) Without seeing person or close up pics I would think that the tabs and new push release would occupy the same space.

There is something about the old school bracelet that just has a certain panerai flair. The new bracelet style is just too generic and plain for me. Like a watered down 93250. If I had options of a pam bracelet, it would definitely be old school! I'm defo not willing to start modding the gen case for it though, namely because I would destroy my watch, and if you have a newer serial with the quick release it wouldn't even be an option (I think.) I realize you have a gen pam, but would it be worth entertaining a rep to get the old school bracelet? I'm not sure what the market is looking like for that these days, but might be nice to have another option.

I've found my bracelet joy in other watches. I think the nicest bracelet I've had was actually on the Tag Monaco LS. It destroyed the quality of gen and rep rolex's with possible exception of president or jubilee as I haven't owned those.
