Any news on a PAM 184 Radiomir GMT?

OK, full disclosure. My, ahem, aversion to Panerai has been pretty well documented. You will never, I repeat, NEVER, catch me with a 111h (or any one of the 19,328 models that look exactly like it) on my wrist. That being said, I saw a gen PAM 184 (42mm Radiomir GMT) at Tourneau the other day that, shocker, I actually kind of liked. Loved the design of the slanted GMT numbering on the interior of the dial, in particular. Also like that it's only 42mm (which suits my dainty and delicate wrists just fine). The last I heard, however, there were no plans to rep this (apparently due to how complicated the movement would be). Has anyone heard any different? I'd even be OK with a non-functioning GMT-- I just think the design of the watch is really cool:

Nary a word on this? Seriously? What about the 185? Does anyone know the difference between the 184 and 185?

The 185 is white gold and has a different texture on the dial, IIRC.

I would think the GMT could be made with a modified A7750, like the other Luminor based GMT autos. The problem here is that the 42mm Rads are probably the lowest volume sellers of any of the Panerai line, so not much chance of this getting repped, IMO.

Sorry. It's a good looking watch, though! I'd buy one in 45mm. :p

The dials are slightly different, "Radiomir Panerai" print below the 12 on the 047 and split "Radiomir" and "Panerai" printing on the Wempe. The chrono minutes subdial printing is a bit different between them, too. The Wempe has a screw-down pusher to stop/start the chrono.

As far as differences in between the two gen watches, I don't know. I don't know what's "special" about the Wempe special edition....

I'd love a 184 or 185. I have hassled Joshua about this this, but he tells me that no suitable movement is available. And that's a shame.

I have one of the "baby" Radiomirs - the 147... it doesn't seem so small when it is on my wrist:

Clive-- great wrist shot, and it shows exactly why I'm kind of digging the 42mm Radiomirs. You can actually wear them in a business setting under your shirt sleeves. Pity about the lack of a good movement on the 184. I had heard that before, but I was kind of hoping that there had been a change. I still think it's a really cool design. Guess I'll have to make do with the PAM047 or something like it.

The A7750 should be able to suit the seconds at 9, GMT and date. I dunno if there is a problem fitting it in that case size or.....?

I know they use the A7750 for other Luminor based GMT autos.

The thickness may be the problem. I don't know the exact thickness of the gen, but I was surprised at how thin it was in comparison to all the PAMs I've seen. The 204 and 047 are about 11mm each, and I'm pretty sure the 184 isn't thicker than those watches.

How about some of the 45mm Radiomirs? They actually wear smaller than any of the 44mm Luminors...

I've heard that, but I really can't wear anything larger than about a 42mm. Seriously, even a 43mm looks like a clown watch on my wrist. And most of the 45mm Radiomirs that I'd be interested in have a 42mm little brother anyway. I know the 184 has a 45mm version, but I can't recall the model. Something in the 200s, I think.

I'd go for the Wempe or the 047, then. I have no idea how accurate they are, but they look cool and the ST-19 manual wind chrono will run for years with no trouble.

The 204 is one of the next reps in my list. It has some flaws if compared with the gen, but even knowing this I think the design is nice.
I can remember some flaws in the rep:
- Missing 3 and 9 markers
- Shorter 2, 4, 8 and 10 markers
- The start/stop button doesn't have the decoration in the gen.
