Hmm - not a big problem?! I'd guess any TD here can get you that watch in quite good quality, for example here:

http://www.replicamake88.com/products/TAG09301-TAG-HEUER-GRAND-CARRERA-CALIBRE-36-DLC-TI-ASIAN-7750-BLACK

I got mine from Lay a couple months ago and IMHO it is very, very good. Very solid, feels like big money and keen hands built it, if you catch my drift.

Sure there are flaws, that all reps of this model I've ever seen share:

- the only half-obvious tell IMHO is the missing "200" on the bezel (but then again: if you don't know that detail -- *nobody* will catch that, in my little experience...)

Now, to the more anal flaws (since I had the chance to put on a gen a couple weeks ago ;))

- the rep case is made from steel, and is heavy like steel, the gen case is made from titan and hence the whole watch is lighter. (Actually, because of the missing weight, at least to me the gen feels nowhere as solid and expensive as the rep. Really feels like plastic - what a disappointment... xD)

- the rep dial is matte black, whereas gen is glossy black. Again: Rep is better IMHO. Gen looks like cheap plastic..........

- the rep crown head is slightly more curved than gen

- the rep is a bit thicker than gen, and the rep chrono second hand sits above the little red triangle of the caliper, whereas with the gen it is the other way 'round (actually I like the thickness of the rep better than the gen!!)

- the printing/engraving on the back case is wrong; BS really...

- the linear second @9 o'clock position will run a bit jerky, whereas gen runs smooth as silk.

- you will see this is not a Zenith based 36.000 beat movement thru the glass bottom, or when using the chrono (by far not the perfect sweep of a gen...).

- the rep rubber strap is OK, but the rep clasp is off. Gen is titan and also titan coloured, rep is shiny inside and PVD'ed on the outside. Yet again - who will ever know and spot that...? Again, on a side note: I think the PVD'ed outside of the clasp goes far better with the PVD'ed watch case than the gen titan coloured clasp - WTF?! :lolcina:

Long story short: If you simply want a great and different looking & feeling automatic chrono watch, this is a solid choice. If you want a very good rep of that TH model, in my book you're also good to go, e.g. with the TD I posted you a link above. The flaws are all minor IMHO. Plus, the Rep even feels and looks better than gen IMHO. So, what's keeping you?! :)

Cheers

PS: DO NOT order version with black leather and red stitches! This leather strap feels crappy and also looks crappy from the other side of the room...

I've been looking around for a long time and can't find a good Caliber 36 rep.

Looking for the same model with this belt and clasp. Would Hont have this one?

That deserves some rep, job well done on the comparison!

Can we do something about the missing 200? I am thinking to buy it but that 200 is keeping me away from buying it.

Thank you.

To be honest if you look at the gen, you can see how all the rest of the numbers are centered and have good spacing between the line. But the 2 from the 200 is very close to the line. I think the first model of this watch was faulty and they fixed it but still kept it off center by just adding the 20.

I don't see any new version with fixed 200. Only in Quartz v.

Does anyone know if this gen comes with AR or if i should go for AR?

I'm going for a quartz version and can't decide if i should pay a 30$ premium for AR.

I don't usually tolerate quartz, but since the seconds indicator is a small window, i can live with it.
