Another way to regulate your manual wind movement

I have had the Pam 111 v4 now about 2 months or so. Never had a manual wind watch before but I am loving it. For me, I have found that to wind it fully takes about 90 winds. That is from dead to full wind and I found that it will run about 55-60 hours on a full wind. I found that if I wind it every day fully it takes about 40 winds and then it runs a bit fast. Maybe about 8s/day. If I let it run for 2 days and let wind it all the way it will be back to ±1 sec/day and if I only wind it 40 or 45 from dead it will run 6 or 7 secs slow.

My conclusion is that when the mainspring is on the tight end it runs a bit fast and when it is a bit on the loose side it runs a bit slow.

I have been able to keep this thing running almost perfect time for about 10 days now by just adjusting how much I wind it and when I wind it.

Anyone else notice this same thing?

Yes it does happen with cheaper generic or Rep mainsprings. That is why a good Gen with a top notch 'even tensioned' mainspring holds its regulation well, no matter how you wind it. But in the case of Reps, it is nice to know we can 'control' this slight anomaly !! Enjoy your Rep !!
