I don't speak French, but I can see, and I saw a POS  Don't people spending that kind of money do ANY research, even if it's just going to the Panerai website and looking at what that thing's supposed to be? Although I've seen worse, LOTS worse, it's a stretch even calling it a "replica".
Never, ever, ever buy a watch off ebay that is supposed to be Gen. There is no way of guaranteeing the authenticity aside from taking to the actual store to check, but then you could lose your watch to confiscation. Remarkable.
I won't argue that point, but I still wouldn't buy a 500 dollar (or more) watch off Ebay, even from a reputable buyer. I bought a Movado Automatic Museum for half the cost from Amazon (the actual Amazon that offers free shipping) and I still wonder if it's Gen. You can't authenticate it if it's not because they will confiscate it. You also won't receive the manufacturers warranty from a non-authorized retailer for most all high end watches. That means Ebay sellers.
Cartier however will authenticate a watch in the store.
Nothing wrong with buying a watch over ebay. I have 3 dealers saved as I know they sell gens because I bought from them before. The way the economy is now you can save a bundle from legit ebay sellers. You can actually save a ton if you just go to an AD as well. Rolex's, Breitlings are offering steep discounts right now.
Any AD who confiscates your watch is in big trouble. Here in Au at least and I belive the same in the US. They have no right, they are not the police or customs. As stated posesion of a rep is not a crime so the cops will not get involved anyway. Basicly it's theft. You can proberley forget sueing them as the factory would prob pay for lawyers but criminal charges could be brought. Any atempt to detain you if you attempted to leave with your property would be assalt and possibly deprivation of liberty/unlawfull dention. Oh I'm shure it happens every now and again but I'm shure the AD involved lives to regret it if they pick on the wrong guy.
Remember the story here a while back when the guy took his gen quartz Rolex into the AD to have the braclet ajusted (or the like)? The guy behind the counter went off his nut yelling about how dare he bring such a crappy rep in there and thretening to destroy it. The guy grabed his watch off the counter and left. I never heard but I hope he complained to the manager over that. Picture the mess if the counter guy had got hold of the watch again? That would have cost them dearly.
