Another newbie.... we're like buses... all arrive at the same time

Hi there. Just wanted to introduce myself. So I am a Monkey that spends alot of time in the air which makes me a SkyMonkey

From the UK but have lived in Cyprus for many years. No I don't miss the UK weather! Also travel an awful amount of time though fairly routinely go home (UK still is and always will be home).

I have a Rolox I bought in TRNC a year or two ago which is.... okay. Also have a rep Moonwatch from Dubai which I picked up recently. Hard to know what I'm really getting. Was told Master copy but means nothing to me. Hence one of the reasons I'm here, to understand the subject a little better before next purchase. Options seem fairly limited in the souks. Mostly APs Tags Omega and Rolex which is always disappointing as I like Tudor and Blancpains. Would love one of the latter.

I have a fairly large collection of genuine watches, a gen Tag which was a birthday present, several others, mostly fossil, Seiko and Oreint. Also love having watch strap options. Would love a U-Boat as next generation watch. Love the styling.

Most of the information you need to know to start is there. If you're preparing to buy, read the stickies before ordering. When you're finished, you can continue learning by reading the stickies in all remaining sections. If it's stickied, it's important information.

If you intend to sell, read the sales rules and all stickies in the sales section with particular care and make sure you understand each single rule. Sales rules infraction is taken very seriously here. As a new member you are not eligible to sell. Using the sales section is a privilege, eligibility must be earned, make sure you know and understand how.

Without seeing it, I know that you were lied to, as the Moonwatch is infamously "uncopy-able" due to its peculiar sub dial layout for which there's no rep movement available to mirror it 1:1.

Hence one of the reasons I'm here, to understand the subject a little better before next purchase.

Here, you'll learn essential stuff like the Moonwatch story above. After a few months, no Dubai basar store owner will be able anymore to tell you that "it's a Master Copy", while handing over an overpriced shitter...
