Hi all,
First off I want to say thank you to Crick for the welcome he offered to my first post in the Flame Free zone. Much appreciated. Thanks to Klink for the noob welcome letter as well.
I am a noob to THIS forum but not a noob to forums per se. I am a big watch junkie that just never really knew there was an alternative to Canal Street in New York. While I did not get burned by RealFriggin Swiss Watches.Com I did drop WAY too much coin on pot metal trash on the street.
This forum was such a sweet jewel of a find to me that I had to seriously hold back as I was ready to order one of everything. But I listened to the advice I received from the senior members - take it slow, learn about the dealers, build a relationship with the one you trust.
Based on your suggestions I've taken the time to read a couple of hundred posts and now think (or should I say - hope) I have the basics down well enough that I won't inadvertantly pis# someone off.
Just ordered two watches, both an Omega Seamaster Blue Chrono and a Breitling Navitimer TT 7750 28800 bph with boxes and papers from two of the trusted dealers, Josh and Andrew. I look forward to seeing just what a good rep should look like.
I understand that it is the Chinese New Year, that the watch may be delayed before it is shipped and that it may possibly be some time in transit so I will be patient, wait a couple of weeks and not start flaming the dealers after only 24 hours.
I look forward to learning a lot from the members - to be honest I already have - and to getting a lot more watches. I hope over time I learn enough to be a contributing member that can give back to this forum.
Thanks guys!
