I hate scam artist trying to sell reps for the real thing,,,,Like the Pawn shop they are talking about in this thread! Seems like the local people that verified the Pam,,,,Couldn't tell if it's fake or not?,,,,I think if someone is going to work at a AD they should have to learn the difference between rep and gen,,,Esp,,,when most of the members here can tell if rep or gen

The guy with the email exchange with the pawn shop is a ****ing idiot. What a stupid way to deal with it; the guy asked for reasons as to why it may be a rep and he just said "look at it it's worth $2" really? If someone emailed me in that manner I wouldn't even bother replying. Some people sell them full well knowing they're reps; yes. However if he did indeed inherit it from his uncle; how should he know it's rep unless someone explains what differentiates it from the gen?
This is what I find so stupid about this thread too, if you wanna call it out as a fake tell the guy why!
but in the end, I'd never trust the guys on risti to be able to spot a rep anyway. Like Rudy says, our guys here are the true experts on this.
Dont feel sorry for people who get ripped off on ebay. A 6k watch going for 2k is an insta red flag. Buying a gen from a pawn shop online is a big mistake
I think you'd be surprised how many of us from RWI, RG, RWG, WC that are on Risti too. The vocal anti-rep ristis just take over those threads.
Oh, I have no doubt a lot of us from the rep forums are on the gen forums as well (I know I am). But as you say, the anti-rep guys take over. My point was just that if I want to check if a watch is a rep or not, I'd ask it here where we have true experts. The majority of the risti guys are clueless when it comes to spotting a rep.
there was a thread a few weeks ago on risti over another watch and even after someone came out and pointed out the tells a number of members were like "I don't know, could be real".

I agree but I think it's for a slightly different reason; I think there are probably just as many if not more "experts" on the Risti forums, it's more that on this forum, if people don't know they just don't post; they leave it to the people that DO know. On the Risti forums EVERYONE has an opinion so the thread is taken up by 200 posts of people that aren't really aware and mixed in are maybe 10 posts of people with the knowledge to help.
For that reason I agree, I would post it here, as I think you'd get a far more accurate and non-judgemental answer.
