AFAIK Angus' 1B solid S/S caseback is the same as any other rep 1B caseback.

Just double check the it comes with the correct 'OP 6518' number as well as Bxxxx/3000 serial, and you're sweet. :)

cheers,
babola

That's the reason I want to see a pic ;)

I've seen the pic of it in another post...the one with B1800/3000 serial - it's spot on...and it comes from Angus. :)

cheers,
babola

Sweet, thanks for the photo. As soon as Angus emails me back hopefully I'll be able to order one. (or two.)

so using this case back on which pam turns it into a 001b?

111h? 111e?

well - further mods are needed, but yes, 111e would (basically).

What other mods would you recommend besides ridding it of AR?

Yep definitely A/R needs to go, and I would also relume the dial, not just because of the lume, but the indices are supposed to be more of ivory color (almost white) and C1 + C3 mix can make this happen.

There are other mods you can consider, but you'll think I am too anal ;)

Ok, we are on the same page :) My 111 is already on the way to vac for a lume and I've been trying to figure out how to remove AR. Wouldn't the movement also be wrong for a B series? I don't think B series are swan necks? The reason I'm turning it into a 001B is that my 172 has a non swan neck and needs the swan neck from the 111E. I'm going to swap the movements and then close the back on the 111E.

Movement is definitely wrong, but in my opinion, since no one can see it (unless they take your watch and open the caseback), no one can tell.

hooligan mentioned that automotive rubbing compound can remove AR - I have never tried myself (yet).

Let me know if you try it. I have an 036 and this 001B that needs it done. I've also heard the 082 has AR and it doesn't have AR. I'm not sure what to do with that one yet.
