Yup - it is a clock movement and it is too large to fit into a watch. I do not know the movment number though.

URGENT!

ANOTHER urgent question:

Does anyone know - just by looking at this picture - if it will have a suitable movement in it? (For a watch)...

@johnboywalton: Is it normal for you to call bastard to someone you do not know?

I sincerelly hope the mvmt turns out ok for him.

BTW did you consider the possibility that the "bastard" knew what he was bidding on?

Odds are very high it is usless for a watches - based on specific tells that these clocks have (sorry trade secrets though).

It was a JOKE. Thus the little winking man at the end of my post ;)

And I also hope it turns out OK for him. I was just pissed I didn't win it myself.

Lighten up.

Tiffany Clock? This is such a beautiful clock. I will get it (not for the movement).

I thought perhaps it would be OK - as it had the winding stem on the side instead of on the back. Plus - it's a fairly small travel clock and it looked to be rather thin.

The buyer will let me know it it worked or not.

Thanks anyway.

Have you extended the second hand pin? It protrudes from the plate, whereas every one I have, or have seen, is recessed - requiring a custom second hand. Very nice movement though, I'll be interested to see the outcome - I don't think anyone's done a 203 yet, the Asian Auto dial kind of fits the 240 - will you be making a custom tobacco dial instead? I know I'd buy one if you did!

This is a good point - calling someone a bastard is not very nice - this is a small world.
