This guy recently posted over on the Purist, expressing his dissatisfaction with his newly purchased Panerai - OK I know a gen 309 is a lot of money to drop on a watch but....... would you loose a watch for 4 months for this?

using my 10x loupe, i discovered numerous places on the movement bridges that appear to be "stained" or "smudged" as you might put it. (Rocketeer - my edit: - further on in the post it appears that these are slight fingerprints)
........................ as time passed, i begin to discover more places on the movement with this fault, and other faults too, such as the ink on my serial number on the movement bridge having "air bubble " ..........So i decided that i shouldnt accept such crappy work, ..............................
In any case, i have to say goodbye to my 309 for probably the next 4 months at least, but well if all goes well i should be able to get it back at the start of the new year.

Panerai have accepted this watch back for a complete overhaul

I'm gonna save a copy of this guys whole post, and the next time I end up having to negotiate with a supplier over a duff purchase, I'll show him what 'picky' could be

this is the type of thing you ask for as a manufacture selling 500.00 watches for thousands. when you charge unjustifiable prices you get customers with unjustifiable complaints, it's called buyers remorse. lmao

On the other hand you can say that Panerai has a great customer service because honestly who checks their movement and watch with 10x loop???
