I posted in another thread that I had picked up a case, bracelet, dial and hands for a red black bay fairly cheap. The bracelet was decent, machining on the end links was poor. The bezel had 90 clicks which drove me nuts, so I removed it to see if it could be modified. Upon taking it apart, i realized it was no where near gen construction, so I decided to use this to practice aging, as I'd like to do some more vintage builds. I bleached the bezel insert, which actually made it a brighter red from the burgundy. Torched the bezel ring to give it a brassy look, and used channel locks to add some light damage to the edge of the bezel assembly. I reinstalled it without the click spring so it's bi-directional. I baked the dial for 5 minutes at 450 deg, which have a nice aged hue to the lume, and made the dial script much more subdued. I left the hands in for another 5 minutes, they yellowed, but do not match the indices on the dial. A little case aging as well. I'll probably practice re-luming the hands next.
