So I was browsing ebay for franken parts as usual when I found this:

http://www.ebay.com/sch/keithlei001/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

Do you think this is a safe bet? I know these parts are aftermarket (rep) and I found some more from different sellers with only 5-8 feedbacks. Do you think these are scam accounts and will they be pulled by ebay?

Also, is there a page to buy parts like Yuki dials and cases but for panerai etc? I'm looking to buy a panerai dial and maybe a case too. I know about GETAT Watch co. but I'd like Panerai branded parts, not only "marina militare"

Thanks guys!

edit: oh and by the way, these items on ebay kinda look too good to be true :/

I live in Switzerland and therefor I cannot order whole watches. That's why I'm looking to buy parts only and build them myself. Parts from Yuki went through customs without any problems.

Why can't you order who watches? I've seen many m2m sales from members that live in Switzerland.

I found a few watches in Switzerland but I'd like to build one myself since I cannot source the models I'd like. Do you have any info on sites like yuki for PAM parts?

I don't think that it's possible to send Marina Militare parts to Switzerland because MM is a registered trademark of Panerai. I have never tried it myself but I know that German customs doesn't tolerate it. The best way to buy rep watches in Switzerland (depending on where you live) is to ship them to Germany and then pick them up there. If this is not possible for you, you should find someone who can receive parcels in Germany and forward them to you from Switzerland.

Marina Militare is not an issue, I bought many watches like this and they went through customs without any problems.

Quite strange situation here with my order via ebay:

- I bid on 2 dials separately and was the highest bidder
- I paid for them both separately using paypal via ebay and paid for shipping 2 times
- seller sent the shipment and I have a tracking number saying the shipment left Hong Kong
- I got a refund via paypal today for both payments
- I got one payment request for the total of both items plus both shipping fees from another paypal email address with a chinese name

what should I do? Should I just pay? If I pay this payment request and never receive the dials (e.g. I get a shipment full of rocks) then the only thing ebay sees is that I got a refund so I'm pulled over the barrel because they don't see the other transaction in context to this order... :/

Please help me :help:

He now sent me an email stating that he had to change the paypal account since ebay is limiting the amount of money he can put through that account and that I should not worry since my items are already shipped...

This guy has only 8 feedbacks and therefor I'm confused where this "huge amount ony money through ebay" should come from...

I can post his email here if you want. He did send the email to me directly but all other conversations happened through ebay communication. Seems veeeery strange to me...:thinking::thinking:

Um, I would not send him a cent until the parts arrive if I were you, sounds suspect to me.

This is what he wrote via email:

Dear Valued Ebay Customers,

I would like to apologize due to a recent issue with Paypal limiting my account for no particular reason, the funds paid to me earlier are now limited. I've sent all necessary documents & faxes to Paypal and yet the outcome is not looking promising.

What I don't understand is why does Paypal need further info when all transaction was done through ebay openly. Isn't ebay a legitimate website? If someone here can enlighten me with advises I'm more gladly to hear.

Due to this issue I'm barely breathing and shocked over the outcome and plead that you kindly do me this big favor.

If you realized majority of your items are already shipped or delivered through the tracking info filed on eBay. And for those which are not updated, your items are packed and ready to be shipped as soon as this matter is resolved.

After some thought, the only way for me to retrieve the funds you've paid me, I came to a decision to refund the amounts you've paid me. Hence send you another invoice through another verified paypal account.

I understand your concern since this is done outside ebay but rest assured Paypal protects buyers interest compared to Ebay, honestly. I'm sure some of you have experienced it, nonetheless should anything happen which i guarantee will not, you can always filed a dispute against me!

Moreover hope you understand my risk as well since majority of your items are either delivered or on the way to you.

By looking at my current feedback, you'd realize customer satisfaction and i've replied all request and tracking status on time through ebay.

I plead that you would give me this chance to proof myself.

Many thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

This only makes it more suspect. I'm gonna hold until I receive the parts.

Well to me that sounds less suspect but all the same I would not be paying until the parts arrive. Who knows what is in the package?

I told him that I'm not going to pay for it until I receive the parts. He seems ok with that. I'm happy to hear that.

I'll keep you posted on the situation. Thank you for your guidance!

In which case I'd say all is good, all is legit and PP are being asses once again.
Honestly, the way they carry on you wonder if they really want to do business.

I've purchased from this seller and all went fine, but if the parts are shipped as stated then no harm in waiting til you get them...I think he's fine
