Advise or tutorial on swapping anti-shock with gen ETA incabloc

Hi all

I managed to get a few old-school 6497-2 Swiss movements with engraved Paneraipanerai bridges that I want to use for pre-F serie builds. I want to swap the incorrect anti-shock that is curently installed for a genuine ETA incabloc that I got off ebay as per gen Panerai but cant find any information or tutorial on how to do it. I am pretty good with the movements and have good tools but afraid to screw it up so if anyone can share their approach or tutorial for the swap it will be of great help, not just to me but to many others members, I am sure. Thanks in advance!

Setting the incabloc is done with a seitz or similar jeweling tool. This allows the bloc to be set at the correct depth to adjust the endshake of the balance assembly with micrometric precision.. It is one of those jobs that is easy with some knowledge and the right tool and impossible without it. My Biggest concern about the swap would be whether the balance staff will work with the hanged shock system. Staffs are specific to the shock system, with the pivots and shoulders matching the housing and jewel. Inabloc staffs wont work in novidioc or parachoc jewels and vice versa. Who knows what the asian shock system is and whether the staff will work. You may need a complete balance if the design is not the same.

Thanks mate - this is great. Possibly a bit too advanced for me, but I reckon I'd give it a shot on a cheaper movement first and see how it goes:)

korneevy, this is a great project. I can't wait to see the results. Send it to Marlin if you get in over your head.!

Yes Grim I got luckily with the movements as they were broken I got them for a song...Marlin could do this easily but I wanted to try myself first, I have a suspicion these bad boys still end up going to Marlin after all:)

I think ill manage to build two out of two, I had another broken swiss laying around so there now have got to be enough parts to make two nice movements out of that pile of parts;)
