PAM gurus,
Recently, a band pin on my PAM has been slowly slipping out. I’ve been lucky that it was caught before the watch fell off my wrist. I’m in need of help finding a new pin bar or finding a way to keep the pin from sliding out. My first problem was knowing what that darn pin is called. Tried searching and Googling Panerai spring bar, pin bar, straight bar, push bar, PAM strap bar, etc., but got nowhere other than the new type of pin bar with a divot at one end of the end for the newer PAM. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Deferring to @Woundup , @kilowattore -- I seem to recall you having a 6152/1 LPMM? How did you address the lug pins on this mode?

They are typically called compression bars. Sometimes they will have a metal sleeve / tube that has a very slightly smaller hole at one end, positioned in the strap and the bar is pushed in to the tube creating the snug compression fit.

You seem to have just the bars, which means that the holes on one side of the case are very slightly smaller - for the same reason. Your bars 'look' to be a good fit based on the picture, so perhaps the smaller hole on the lugs has widened over time & use.

The easiest fix will be to put a tiny bend in the center of the bar so that it will create the tension required to hold it in place. The other option is to have a new set of bars made in a slightly larger diameter - but this will also require the lug holes to be drilled.

Thanks for the quick response. I would have not thought it’s called compression bar! I will give bending the bar a try.

I agree with @Woundup
Another option is to create a notch in the strap tube. You should just put a fairly thin object over the tube and hammer it not too fiercely. This should create enough friction for the bar to be held in place

Let us know if that works - as mentioned by @kilowattore you could also make some resistant tubes easily if needed.

Will do. I have another strap that has tubes that i can try out - this one doesn’t have it. Probably some time next week since i have to unexpectedly work this weekend - really want to try it out.

Eureka! Putting a notch in the strap tube works wonder so far. Was going to bend the pin but wasn’t able to find a place to order and didn’t risk it.

Tested the pin to make sure it’s not too tight or loose. Then slip it all back into place and lightly tap the pin in.

Thanks for all your suggestions!!
