Advice wanted on 15202 build and DP dial

In late 2021, when RO hype was at its peak, I jumped on the bandwagon and decided to see what all the fuss was about. I ordered a JF 15450 build from the aptly-named @legend and then also picked up a build by him of an XF 15202 next door on reddit. Ultimately, I decided one would do and parted with the 15450, keeping the 15202. This surprised me, as I figured that the smaller size of the 15450 would suit my wrist better, but I just couldn't get over the thinness and the "total package," so to say, of the 15202.

I've had the good fortune of trying on the gen a few times over the years, either at watch shows or ADs. I remember the first time I tried one on, what struck me immediately was that, when I rotated my wrist, the dial lit up with a vibrant, electric blue -- somehow bright and subtle all at once. The following photos are from that first time, but don't really capture it:

Like I said, I've tried it on the gen few more times, but strangely never been able to recapture that unique shade of blue in gen, in person:

At the same time, my delightful build shows a panoply of colors, depending on the light. When I tilt my wrist almost completely away from my face and toward the light, it gets to be a richer blue, but not quite the electric shade of the gen (visible in the last two photos below).

A few years ago when the DP dial came out, I followed with great interest, but didn't buy one. Then, of course, they were discontinued. One came up on m2m a few weeks ago, and I jumped on it, with the intent of getting it installed on my build. It's finally arrived, and I can't decide what to do. Something about it is just a little too electric, and I feel like I have a slight preference for mine as-is. Some comparison photos between my build and the DP dial, both alone and together, and under different lighting scenarios, are below.

So I'm posting this here to get some opinions, from those better versed in the world of AP, and this mythical model, than I am. Should I keep mine as-is? Swap with the DP dial? Or, should I just go whole hog and buy a gen dial? (Something I've also considered in the past). That would be, of course, obscenely expensive, and pretty irrational. Then again, such could be said about many things in this hobby, and it's not outside the realm of possibility.

Appreciate any and all views and advice!

Dp dials have too much sunburst compared to gen
The stock one you have is much better to keep

The only way you will be satisfied as is see it is with gen dial, a gen k2121 movement and gen hands
But estimately off the top of my head i see a 10k build

For me if its your dream watch and you like it so much , it's worth it yes

I’m an huge 15202 fan. This was my builds:

This one was my first build with DP dial and some mods from Legend(hand, etc..)

This is my new build with a gen 2121 and a modded ZF dial by Legend(also other mods, date wheel, hands).

I had the opportunity to have in hands a gen 15202 and there are no ways to get the same dial experience because both of the option above are off in different ways. I’ve decide to keep my current build dial because the color of the DP is too flashy and light blue.

Keep the one you like more. If you want a gen experience then buy gen. That's simple. (My compromise was DP v2 because I very like its color and moderate sunburst.)

Btw, I'm not sure if your DP dial is a modded one or v1 or v2. My guess is it's v1 or a modded v2. I have an untouched DP v2 installed in my watch and I very like it because its color is dynamic and vibrant, and it has a moderate electric blue sunburst, all of which make my watch exciting. I've never seen the gen in person but in photos and videos its all color versions look a bit boring to me compared to my DP v2 dial. If the price of a blue gen dial was USD 1-2k then I'd immediately buy one but with owning a DP v2 dial I'm set at the moment. Of course the tapisserie and the printing are also not gen like on the DP dials but the color and the sunburst of v2 are a good compensation for me.

Dp dials have too much sunburst compared to gen
I, for instance, would like more sunburst for the dial of my 16202, no matter whether the gen does have it or not.
I think it´s one of the nice things about reps that one can optimize them to ones own liking without ruining a really expensive watch.
I take it that the dial here will also fit the 16202 too, so I would be a contender in case you want to sell it.

FYI
I'm selling my 15202 DP v1 dial if you are into a brighter blue dial with a pronounced electric blue sunburst.

Sure that is your personal taste, everyone is different on that
As for me i haven't met a rep dial that is more beautiful-impressive than the equivalent gen
The strong sunburst of dp dials just screams fake at my eyes not more beautiful

AFAIK it is a stock v2. This is the sales post from where I picked it up: https://forum.replica-watch.info/threads/dp-v2-15202-dial-discontinued.10983967/. Perhaps @squar3pants can shed more light on the matter (pun only somewhat intended).

@grillbrill if you're so inclined, would be happy to see some photos of your build with the DP v2.

Ok, I can do it next week because the watch is not at me.

Sadly as other said, DP dial is not the right shade.

I have the XF V1 dial, despite the mismatch lume (I am going to get it fixed after summer) this dial is SOOOO nice. It shows different blues based on the angle, including a vibrant almost ocean color blue when tilted extremely. I have read this is one of the best 15202 rep dials ever made, and am blessed to have this piece as my daily.

Look into the recent recolored 15202 dial by @legend. To me it looks the best value for $ since it has the right amount of sunburst and he used a 2016 gen as color reference.

Thanks! Yes, I saw that @Luca_1 has one and it looks beautiful. I assume that the only way to get one would be to commission a new build from @legend, though.

I think you might be able to just send your watch over to him and have him mod it. I've done it before and currently have another watch with him that I sent to mod as well.
