Okay, I'll admit it, I was sort of scared when I decided to buy my first Pam. Having a puny, girly 6.75 inch wrist, I was accustomed to having watches no bigger than 42MM.
I sold some watches, because I have this way of thinking that every 1 or 2 years, I update my "fleet" of watches completely. So, After having a Chrono Seamaster Bond, a Milgauss, a Submariner Ceramic, a Daytona, and several others, I decided that this year, my updated fleet would have watches that I didn't have before.
I always come back to Rolex. I don't know why. But this year, I bought my first PAM. A 318L. After browsing here, I always fancied a PAM with the old "OP" logo on the Dial. This one came out. I sold some watches in the fleet and got it. After pay-palling the seller, questions started to come to mind. "Will it fit me?, Will it be humongous?, will your wrist look ridiculous with it? will it be super heavy?" and some others. I sold a beautiful Daytona which I loved dearly and it was one of the most beautiful watches I've seen and had in quite a while. The 318 arrived. I was surprised. Humongous watch. Clean, simple, manual wind, great strap. etc.
I put it on my wrist and wore it until I went to sleep. I was thinking "gosh, this thing is heavy, and huge ! My wrist must look ridiculous".
Next day, I went to work, and a colleague said "Wow, that watch suits you real well!" and I asked "Doesn't it make my wrist look bad?" and he replied, "No, it fits you real well. You should wear bigger watches" After that, I looked at my PAM, and realized what a beauty it is.
Today, day 3 with my PAM, I'm already accustomed to it size and weight. I love it!
So my advice to future buyers of PAM reps and gens, don't be scared, don't fill your head with questions like I did. Just wait for it and give it at least 3 days of non-stop wear. You'll feel what I feel. Even though I might not pass of 44mm in a watch, I guarantee this one won't be my last PAM.
Just wanted to share my great experiences with PAMS, and I thank you, RWI and it's PAM team for opening and for helping me explore the PAM world.
