Advice on a new a7750 movement

I like the look of a particular rep Breitling Chrono B01 so much that I am purchasing one, despite my misgivings about its a7750 movement (specifically, Asian 7750 Chronograph Automatic Movement, 28800bph).

I have read a number of posts about the problems with this movement; many references to it being a "time bomb”, although some saying that the newer a7750 movments have been improved and are not problematic as long as you “don't mess with the chronos." It is this last comment that I could use some clarification on (and I know this will show just how little I know about the functioning of this type of watch). Does this mean that I should just leave the chrono pushers "locked down" at all times, and do nothing other than pull out the center crown to set the time (clockwise direction?) . I'm fine with doing this, as I have no interest in using the chronos.

Any other suggestions on what I can do to preserve the movement as long as I can.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

In my experience, the time keeping performance of the a7750's is from ne and comparable to other chinese movements. The screws are soft and easily broken while makes them a nightmare to repair or service. Spare parts are not available and even donor a7750 parts are not always compatible. The levers and cams in the chrono mechanism can be soft and prone to bending and braking and there are no adjustment like swiss chronos. I dont work on or service them as a rule. As you say, you should be fine for a long time if you use the watch to keep time. Just be aware that service and repair is unlikely and a movement swap. Might be the only choice if it dies.
