I just took delivery earlier today of a Noob V2 DSSD with a 2836 movement. Bought the watch from a TD. Right out of the box it was broken.
I can’t set the time. When I first tried to set the time rotating the hands clockwise the hands rotated a couple revolutions just fine but then stopped moving. Something then "caught" and they turned a bit, then stop, then turn a bit… They then stopped moving altogether. The crown spins but will not turn the hands. I rotated the crown “backwards” to turn the hands counter-clockwise and they turned fine for a bit but then started doing same as when rotating clockwise before they stopped moving altogether.
I also can't change/advance the date. It's caught in between days while the hands are at the 4:00 position.
Now when I turn the crown in either direction the hands don’t move at all and I can’t set the time. The crown is also loose and “wobbly”. The watch broke before I even put it on my wrist….
I’m not thrilled about sending back to them for repair. It’s expensive to ship to China and takes a LONG time (i.e., couple months!!!) to get a watch back from being repaired by the selling TD. I have one right now with a different TD. It broke on me several days after receiving. It’s a 7750 and it’s been almost 2 months since I shipped it to them for repair. They just today sent me a tracking number saying it’s fixed and headed my way.
Also, the bezel rocks much more than I think it should. Lots of verticle movement when you push down on it.
What do you guys think? FWIW, I contacted a respected forum watchsmith. I wanted to get an estimate of just paying to have it fixed and he said send it back. I really dread sending it back to China....
