Hey everyone!
I was looking for a black Panerai rep, so I have asked some dealers for a PAM339, but it looks like it's out of stock. Too bad!

Now I am searching around, and so far I don't know what to pick.

I have seen the following, but I don't know waht to pick:

- PAM 617
- PAM 375

Any other advice ?

Thanks!

If you haven't already looked at the PAM438, it's a great option. The new VSF version is very well made and looks extremely gen like. All ceramic case and bracelet too which is a plus. PAM292 is also a nice choice if you like the ceramic case.

The PAM375 and PAM617 are very similar in appearance in terms of mid dase structure and domed crystal. The PAM375 is basically a PAM127 with a composite case and a P.3000 movement. The PAM617 just changes things up with a DLC'ed Titanium case with an OP logo at 6, still using a P.3000 movement, but with a closed caseback. In terms of replication, the PAM375 rep does not use a composite case, which is an aluminum case bonded with ceramic. The PAM617 case is nearer with a SS case DLC coated (instead of a DLC'ed Titanium case). Both are very good watches. It all depends on your preference. The PAM438 is good as well with the latest version.

Well the PAM292 has already been mentioned. Not too common are the 45mm PAM643 and the PAM613. They have not been reviewed but they show good promise. Closed caseback as well. PAM504 with the open caseback, 47mm updated with the P.3000 superclone movement.

The composite cases are more choco brown than black like the ceramics are . I have a 505 and a 438 and there's a very noticeable difference in color between them.

The composite has that brownish-purple, almost oil slick look to it as tr573 picture above shows. The ceramic is a more matte finish that doesn't change with the lighting. Frankly, I like the composite look much better, but its a a bit of a stretch insofar as accuracy goes.

If you like the Radiomir case without a date, look at a 532. If you get a crystal with good AR, while not 100% gen-spec, its a helluva nice look.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I have the 617 amongst many other black PAMs and I love it. I also have the SF 629 with a KW crystal which is very nice too and has that case. I do like the gold hands on the 375 though. One thing I will say is that these black domes are very hard to photograph. They look better in real life than in most pics.

The new 505 has the updated movement with quickset hour (which means no quickset date), keep that in mind. Nice for travel, sucks if you rotate a lot and don't have a winder. 438 gmt movement is same way.

It could sounds like a naive question, but the pam692 case is real titanium or is coated?

The case is made of titanium. It wouldn't make sense, or rather cents, to coat a stainless steel case with titanium nitride.

I can not wait to try it underwater after having waterproofed it :)

Thanks for your help!
