OK, so I'm building a 3646 Deco Bezel with a black 'MM' dial. I got the watch from Davidsen. I cracked the plexi 'crystal' and he supplied me with another, but I can't figure out how to fit it. The old one easily pushed out from the inside, once I removed the movement. It has a thin plastic/neoprene gasket around its outside diameter that obviously creates a pressure fit between the case and the plexi. The new one comes supplied with the same gasket but I can't get it and the plexi face into the watch body. What's the trick? Do I put the gasket into the watch head and then somehow (how, please?) squeeze the plexi face into place inside the gasket? Do I leave the gasket on the rim of the face and squeeze them both home into the body simultaneously--how? I'm sure there's an easy trick...... incidentally, I put the replacement on the caliper and it is the same size as the old. Thus the problem is with me, not Davidsen. Help much appreciated!

LOL We knew the problem was with you, Dru, not DSN. :p

I would suggest taking it to a watchsmith with a crystal press...

Or

I would say crystal press or, put the plexi in the freezer, and put the case in some boiling water. and hope it doesn't crack when it cools.......

I wrote to David and he too said to take it to a watch smith. 'Crystal press'. Never knew there was such a creature. Thanks for the advice. I will post pics once the whole project comes together. I think (hope) it's going to look good.

Even with a crystal press, I would still take it to someone who knows what they're doing to make sure the crystal/gasket/case seal is correct.
