So on the strength of the forum, I ordered a PAM 505 from Kuvarsit. The transaction was fine and the watch is a thing of beauty, but...... The power reserve is only a couple of hours, then it stops. The rotor is also quite noisy. Is there a connection between the low power reserve and the noisy rotor? I've written to Alen about this but have not heard back. Meanwhile, is there a known fix for this? I'm pretty handy and have fixed lots of things like hands that have fallen off, keyless works, etc. Having said that, I haven't worked on a 7750 movement--which I believe is the basis for what is in the 505 I've not hand-wound the watch at all, but do spin the rotor for a bit each morning, but a couple of hours after I've taken off the watch it's dead. This is a daily occurrence. I'd like to avoid having to send it back to China. Ideas???? :wyliehelp:

I'm not sure that the noisy rotor has anything to do with the short power reserve. Many rotors are noisy and have plenty of PR. Sounds more to me like you need to have the movement serviced, could be dirt, lack of proper oil, too much oil, etc.

How is the power reserve when you wind it manually? Any change or still only a couple of hours?

Definitely ok to manually wind just be gentle. Give it 15-30 winds then wear it for awhile. When you take it off check the power reserve then.

I emailed Alen about my 505 I got from him (concerning the noise of the rotor). He says that they all have a kind of noisy rotor and that it is normal. I will say I manually wound mine and the power reserve is stellar.

That seems to have cured the problem: hand wind, then wear. I have to say that Alen at Kuvarsit was excellent about this issue, responding in a timely manner, and then even sending me a note a day or so ago to see how things were going. I'm impressed. Meanwhile, that 505 is one gorgeous watch! I've put in a request with Alen to do a 508 :cheer:

Hi there, do you have other rep watch at home?
How does it compare to rotor noise of this 505 ?
I am considering to buy this model, however 'loud' rotor noise has always been a concern to me....

Can you post pics of your watch? ;)
