hey guys, i'm on the list for marlin's modded 127 but he can do the same for the 217. I've owned a gen 112 and i never got the rep 111 at the time because the poor quality of the "panerai" engraving was always a give away. That's not including all the other tells. Now the reps have come a long way but even with all the mods the engraving is a give away. i noticed on the newer pam models the "panerai" engravings are gone and have been substituted with cotes de geneve. This version of the rep appears to be a more accurate reproduction. Any experts want to chime in?

Hmm, well, I think there's nothing we can do about the plate engravings on the rep movement if you want to go with a 127. I also find that the engravings aren't as deep as the gen movement. So, if that bothers you, go with the 217 since a Marlin modded 217 movement will be closer to the gen.

As far as I know, the 6497 with the "PANERAI" engravings like the one in 127, was used by OP in their E - G series watches only. So, Panerai watches beginning with "H" production have the 6497 with the CDG plates in them.
