About to buy my first Panerai

About to dip my toes into the pool with my first Panerai purchase - probably a 42mm 1055 due to my slender wrists. Slowly getting more comfortable with larger watches, so will no doubt end up with the 47 at some point :)

Are there any specific QC things to look out for on VSF PAMs or Panerai reps in general or is it just the usual criteria?

Cheers!

Hello!

First, glad to have a replenishment! :)

As for the difficulties with VSF panerai, this is primarily at the moment - accessibility. VSF supplies some models from time to time, to some dealers, but you have to be aware that you can not get everything and not always. So I wish you patience.

As for the QC, in the case of the PAM1055, everything is pretty standard for any rep divers. Separately, I would highlight, maybe, just the alignment of the date in the window. I haven't heard of a problem with the PAM1055, but this is a general inconsistency of the P.9000 clones from VSF in recent times.
Sometimes it is worth paying attention to rounds 15, 30, 45, so that they all face the bottom inside the circle, often they may not be aligned, or turned upside down.

In general, I will not offer revelations, everything I am talking about can be checked by having a photo gen and a photo from the TD website at hand.

Maybe someone from the owners of PAM1055, and another 42mm Submersible, share their experience and tell more.

Anyway, I wish you good luck and patience again!

Many thanks for the specific PAM advice - especially the rounds at 15, 30, etc. I tried on a Panerai for the first time yesterday at an AD - and it really did feel good on the wrist.

Thankfully Sead has confirmed he has a VSF 1055 in stock just now (China, not his UK stock). Once I get the QC pics over I'll have some fun comparing photos :)

Thanks again and nice being in a part of the forum I've not spent much time in until now!

Just had my QC pics through (within 1 day, thanks Sead!) and have given them the green light. One of the photos below, as he takes better photos than I would!

Cheers mate

Sead is excellent, bought a few watches from him before from his UK stock, this is the first time from him from China stock.

Already started to look at different strap options!
