Hello everyone!

Can anyone give me an advice, where to buy a new A7753 movement?
I have a PAM363 Buenos Aires, and the movement is slowly but surely dying, I had it even serviced by a local watchsmith, but he also advised me to prepare a funeral.
I was trying to find an answer, but got nowhere. Should I look Aliexpress or just ask the TDs?
Thanks a lot!

It's a bit risky to get it from Aliexpress. Did you get your Pam363 from a TD? If so you can try to talk to him and see if he can source one for you.
Nah! Got it here in the M2M section, but the sales thread is long gone, as it was like 6-7 years ago. So I don't even know the factory.

Do you happen to have any TD you've been buying for recent years? If so they might be helpful too.
As for few weeks ago, I only bought in the M2M section. Only recently I made my first orders. One with Trusty and one with Ryan from Intime. So you recommend just to ask around the TD's? Feeling kinda stupid as I don't even know to factory and they seem like busy people 😅

I suggest you ask around TDs you have dealt with since this is a favour they can do for you. Of course, Aliexpress is your last resort, but you need to be extra careful, much more difficult than dealing with TDs or M2M, you'll never know what they are gonna send you until it's too late.

Thanks for advice man, I will try that 🙂

I would probably want one of our modders do a movement swap as opposed to a local watchsmith, and basically outsource the sourcing of the correct movement in the process.

I don't know how experienced your guy is with reps, but giving it to a modder from the scene could potentially avoid a lot of obstacles, delays, issues and problems that you may experience when trying to source the right movement yourself. Buying the right one is a (for a layman already difficult) task, having a watchmaker who already knows if and what needs to be modified or changed to get it to work in your particular watch is another one.

Agree with you. I usually have Nikz to take care of mine, full service etc.

You are probably right. Even for my local watchsmith it was the first time to tinker with a asian cloned movement and he had hard time to fix it (it was the mentioned movement and I used the chrono function, even when I knew I shouldn't do it...). The chrono second hand didn't return back to the 12 position. He managed to fix it, but I don't think it will last much longer. I just thought, that to swap the entire movement if I could buy one wouldn't be a problem even for someone, who has not much experience with the asian clones. But I will probably turn to one of our moders here in the end 😅
Thanks guys for advice!

I don't know your budget, but if it allows for a bit more than just the Asian movement, I would explore the possibilities of replacing the rep movement with a gen Swiss ETA. That could result in a much more reliable watch, not only for the chronograph function, but overall.

It's a popular mod for A7750, considering how unreliable they are. If you decide to go in such a direction, make sure to keep all receipts as you can adjust your price accordingly, should you decide sell it in M2M in the future, and get a large portion of your investment back. 😉

I considered that option and I even wouldn't mind to put more cash in it, but if I understand it correctly, I would have to change more then just the movement, as it is possible that the hands wouldn't be compatible with the original ETA 7753. And would it fit in the case?

Yep, exactly. The real ETA swap is a bit more complicated... I think a modder should be able to give you quotes for the two options. One with a real ETA, one a straight A7753 for A7753 swap.
