Lots of people comment/complain about how sensitive the asian 7750 movement is to breaking. Is it just with improper care or is it really that bad? I don't understand how dealers sell them if they are truly as bad as things I've read.

Comments/opinions/experiences please

TIA

Ok i meant Asian 7750..cant change the title :p

Changed the title for you -- hooligan

the second @12 versions are pretty bad because they are a mod by someone, and have no rubys in some spots, the second @ 9 versions are not that bad, they seem pretty reliable to me, nearly everything I have heard about these movements has been an easy fix

the latest version have stones on all transfer gears

In general, the high beat standard layout with 6/9/12 are very good when you are nice to them. You just need to follow the rules for setting date and you need to know the basics on how to operate a chrono. The 6/9/3 layout is also very good, but you have the sunken DW problem. Stay away from the Daytonas with the A7750 movement, the transfer gears do not have any stones / diamonds and they run on metal, it is just a question of time when they stop working.

Regarding the low beat, I never bought one and I hear people being happy and other people are not happy.

I have a Breitling with the standard layout, it was serviced right from the beginning and it is running now since 4 years with +1sec / day.

Ziggy said, the build quality is very good for a A7750 and after a service the watch will run a long time until it needs service again.

Also the A7750 come with different grades and most of the time they are dirty, over oiled or haven't seen any oil, that is the problem. For example, the first HBB fab used only top grade A7750 and I have a friend and his HBB is 3 years old and running very good without a service.

Regardless of where the seconds run, I would wager that of the threads I see complaining of movement problems, 75% or more are about 7750 movement watches.
Now this may be due to the popularity of chrono watches, which can only run this movement, but it still seems they have problems at far too high a rate.
That's just my $0.02

The majority of issues with the 7750s are user related. Take care of and operate them as you hopefully would any 5k gen and you won't have a problem.

Excuse me, I know my post isn't very relevant to this thread. But in case of a A7750 movement problems, is it possible to fix it without bringing it to shop? I have heard cases where people got their replica watches confiscated when they bring them to watch shops. Some even got warnings from police for owning counterfeit goods.

What country are you in? There's a myth about confiscation in the USA, but it's just that - a myth.
If you need repair work done G (on RWI) can take care of you.

Ok, thanks for the information Anopsis. I live in Australia and I'm just wondering where i can seek help if my watch were to break down. They are still working fine for now.

I have done work for Australian members. I actually have one on its way back there right now. There's really not a whole lot of difference other than the wait (about 10 days in transit each way). No customs issues to report.

Do you declare as a watch on the customs declaration?
