I have an Omega seamaster 300M chrono w/ A7750 that has been my daily for quite some time. Unfortunately, it fell off my night stand and no longer works, which is surprising because it only fell a few feet onto carpet

When I say "no longer works", the sec @9 no longer functions, nor does the chronograph.

I have tried winding, shaking, gently tapping, pushing the chrono pushers, etc. to no avail.

I opened up the case back and do not see any loose parts. The balance wheel looks intact and the spring is not broken either.

Since I'm still a bit of a noob, I have a few questions on my next step:

1.) Does this sound like a potentially easy repair? Yes, I know this is a stupid question w/ no supporting pics. I can upload one later when I get home if need be.

2.) If this is an easy repair, can someone suggest members on the board (preferably US based, I'm in Houston) that can fix an A7750?

3.) Given how cheap these movements are, would it be worthwhile (and easier) to just buy another movement and swap out? Building off that, could I go with a gen ETA 7750 if I had the gen hands to go with it?

Thanks in advance for any assistance. Apologies for the newbie questions.

I'm sorry to hear this and sorry to say that I can just answer your 3rd question.

A new ETA 7750 goes for around $400 on eBay. A complete A7750 service goes for around $250 (or so I've read).

I too have a SMP Chrono with an A7750 and thought of just getting a new Swiss one whenever the A7750 ones conks out.

I know there are a few watchmakers here who deal with 7750's. I know Ko67 (who is in Dallas) has undertaken some 7750 projects, so maybe he could be able to help.

Give the balance wheel a slight tap and see if the pallet fork and escape wheel move.

I dont know off hand if the movement has a deco plate, but I dealt with a PAM issue once. The watch had been dropped and a screw that is usually on the edge by the escape wheel was where the deco plate was screwed it. It was just slightly not tight enough and the jarring from being dropped dislodged the escape wheel from the jewel.
