Hi everyone

I am currently in the process of removing my A6497 movement from a badly scratched up PAM case to put into a new shiny one. I have read several posts on the steps and procedures to take when removing it as well cwazy's video on youtube. However I am stuck on the part to remove the tabs and the screws holding the movement down. The screws seem to be so small that none of my precision screwdivers can fit in (I have purchased another 2 and still the same issue).

How could I possibly fix this issue? Any advice would be appreciated :) Cheers

You just need a smaller set. Search eBay for jewelers screwdrivers, they'll usually come in a pack of five or six and be color coded. Compared to some of the movement screws, those MVT tab screw are quite large.

You can sand down the smallest screw diver and try.
I don't recall the size but my set works fine. Don't loose tabs.

Your set must be too big. In my set I have at least two or three that are too small for the screws on those tabs so you just need a small set. Also, Don't forget to push down adequately while you turn.

When you get the driver set make sure to get som rodico putty. Great for removing the tabs and getting your screws started on reassembly.

my advice is dont get the cheap ones as they are not according to the size that they were supposed to be. a cheap 0.5mm screwdriver may end up with a 1mm tip.
