Hello watch fam,

I’ve been struggling to remove the stem without slipping the gears in an A2824 (on 2836 too) thus rendering it useless unless repaired, to where I have to remove the dial to fix the slipped gear.

Does anyone have any tips? I genuinely follow the step by step, and depress the release as I should at the furthest position (hacking stop position). I’ve done this on 4 watches now. All slipping as I remove the stem. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You are not alone. One needs to be particularly gentle with these, press the button ever so little while already softly pulling at the stem until it is free. When assembling make sure that all the components of the keyless works are flat and not bent.

There are many tipps and tutorials available in the web.

for a second I thought you are referring to an obscure tool that I would itch to buy to use it once ever 😅

Are you using the red screwdriver in the release slot? The slot is designed to limit the depth the screwdriver can go, so you won’t push too far.
Thank you. I have one but didn’t know to do that. I really appreciate it!
