GOD BLESS DE REPLICAS!

Can't compare them in terms of actual reliability but I for one, believes in having a huge collection that feeds my addiction, rather than settling for a small number of high priced gens leaving me constantly yearning for more which in no way ever on earth my finances can keep up with.

GOD BLESS DE REPLICAS! once again... [smilie=angel10.gif]

Give Panerai a break HU. At $4000 they can't afford to put a swan neck on it because 98% of their costs are marketing and so you have to allow them some margin of profit. Besides, how could they justify charging $20,000 for the other models.

That bullet proof 'piece of junk asian movement' is so simple that it should continue working for another 50 years without a problem.

I like the movement in the rep the best. At least it says "Swiss" on the bridge.

exactly vlad the impaler, more bang for the buck and it can also help you decide whether you want to get the gen or not. i already have two new reps i haven't even worn yet i like my new pam rep so much. i had to find out what in the world the pam crazies liked about them, and i found out!

hmmmmm....i beg to differ....unfortunately, the movement in my rep is 100 % swiss....with a nice decoration.

it is a 6497 / 1 ......and it can be bought ....now and then for inbetween 200-300 $ on the bay.

no doubt, it will last as long as the Panerai mvmnt......why shouldnt it ?

Great example of marketing on these Gens. Simple movements and there you go.

well, there are differences - of course.

the gen should be a highbeat 6497 /2.....and it has the base -plate decorated.

also, it comes with the chronometer- certification.

do i wanna pay about 3500 $ more....for the gen ?

cant.......wont !

YEAH! I just wanna feel good knowing that I've got a beautiful timepiece on my wrist. I don't give a flying f*** who the grandfather of the original watchmaker is. Lets leave it as that.
