A new hope for Panerai?

I miss Mr. Angelo Bonati so much. This last CEO took a successful brand and ruined it in 7 years. Let's see what kind of changes the new captain will implement.

This is indeed good news. JMP was a complete failure as CEO and led the brand away from its core values and in-turn its core customers. Hopefully there is enough of a pulse remaining for Perrin to work with - however the issues and brand scars are perhaps more the fault of Richemont than any CEO.

The only real way to judge the future success of Perrin will be if we see more Panerai reps and traffic / activity here in the coming years....

I do not own a PAM and have been itching to snag one - rep or gen. Looking forward to some changes and something that may catch my eye.

Reeignating the hype won't be easy.
Even during the crazy inflated prices during the past 4 years, Panerai was kind of there along with Breguet, JLC and IWC - they remained stable, while Rolex, AP, Patek exploded

Agreed. Plus the bullshit 'Navy Seals' releases, Prada styled clown watches, odd collaborations (ie Brabus), movement downgrades and pointless 'material innovations' such as the BMG Tech (that have been prone to failure) have all taken their toll.

I might be a little overly aggravated about the brands downward spiral over the past 10 years but I'm actually looking forward to seeing a turnaround - if Perrin has the balls to implement the right strategy.
