Hello RWI goers!

You've might have seen this over at RG, but for all those who dont frequent there, here's the whole spiel for you folks.

First thing's first: THIS thing was a bitch to get :) Secondly, if you just want eyecandy, scroll down and skip my ranting bitching storytelling of how this watch came to be.

======My bitching and ranting starts here=======

OH so you've chosen to read this? Ahhhhhhhhh i dont know if you're bored, or just totally bored.

Anyways, long story short: I've been hunting around for a gift for myself - a "yay you're over 30 b-day present" and the Fiddy fit right into that "ooo gotta have it!"

So I put my searching cap on and a hunting we went. Some dealers didnt carry it. Others were on Chinese new year vacation. The couple of folks i PM'ed had minor talks about... then somehow communication just fizzled - that's ok - it happens. Just means i keep on trekin'!

2 weeks later, I finally come upon a dealer named Sead over at RG. He's a great guy - responds quickly and did me a favor by sourcing this watch. So i wait a week and he finally gets it in and sends me pics. This is ALL before money even transferred! that's swell! SHIP it out i says!

As you guys might know, i've also had a BK crown and tube on order for my noobmariner, and it finally came in the day Sead shipped the fiddy out. I was soooo happy! EASY swap! The unfortunate thing is when i removed the crown, i set it RIGHT next to the NEW crown. I cleaned the stem, and accidently grab the SAME old crown. Well, somehow that fubars the movement as the stem didnt go all the way in and i'm sitting there trying to screw on a Crown to the tube that doesnt fit :( then worse comes to worse when the movement busts. AN easy swap turns into a 6 hour surgery to try to fix the movement! SURPRISNGLY I FIX THE MOVEMENT YAY! BUT WAIT!!! OH NOES i fubared the dial and hands!!!! THE DAMN PIN for the seconds hand snapped! THEN out of depression I crash my lifeless body of woes and pains onto my chair, WHICH CAUSES THE MOVEMENT to drop --- and a nice pretty gash on the rollie dial sits there. WTF :( BUT WAIT! i have sead's watch comin in ! YAYYYY!

BUT WAIT!!!! it didnt deliver?!?! My brain is scraemin "F this i'm done with REPS. I'm buying casios from now on!"

uuuugggghhhhh the day of delivery, my wife checked the mail at 1, i checked at 2 and then @ 3, mail is delivered, but its just the regular mail :( then at 4 tracking says it was delivered  but no watch was to be found anywhere ... BWAAAAAHHAT? :( USPS tells me "It could have been foul play?" and "have the sender file a claim" and "if it says delivered in the computer, it means it's already delivered"

 anyways i mail sead and tell him the bad news. I tell him my woes. I tell him my pains and tell him to leave me alone and let my heart sink into what is already a cruddy run of bad luck. I expected nothing really, and didnt want a replacement at all. But he said "no worries! i'll get you a new one at my cost!"

wow! i protested, but he insisted. Whelp, that's some relief. thank god for dealers like that.

WHELP...

2 days later, guess what happens? a security guard a couple buildings down delivers my package to me. said it was missent to his building! AWWW WOW what a swell dood! stupid USPS. You HEAR THAT RAZOR REG? USPS AGAIN! The package wasnt mislabled. In fact, it was all in print, and my address was CLEARLY printed on there - no way it could have been mistakened for some other address!

anyyyyways... watch is now in hand... i'm calm now... i'm cool... i can finally goto bed with my beautiful sexy wife... and wait for the next cataclysm to occur.

So there you go! pics are below. Sead is a swell dealer to buy from :) If you read this far, KUDOS to you! 100 RWI$

======================

The mini fiddy is a great watch. if you skipped the long rant above, what basically happened was that my watch got misdelivered to a couple buildings down. So it took a while to get to me. The address was CORRECT, CLEAR, IN PRINT, and our buildings numbers can't be mistaken for each other. Otherwise, just USPS negligence.

Ahhhhh the finely packed bubble wrap watch that we are so accustomed to for reps.

YAAAAAYYY FINALLY!
03_theWatch.jpg

this one lacks the Officine panerai logo. but who cares? it's a fantasy model! check out that swanky swan neck on this asian model!

The fiddy definitely feels a little smaller on my wrist than the regular 111h. I like that, my wrists are small. I think it's the curvatures that makes it feel smaller. Swapped out the rep strap and shoved my custom Savage Strap on!

WRIST CHECK!
06_wc1.jpg

here's how girly my wrists are. the watch definitely sits nicer - less bulkier on my wrist than the 111H. LOOOOVE IT!
06_wc2.jpg

The Mineral glass dome, that adds to its vintagy feel and fiddy style likeness is what makes this watch so appealing - that and the fact it's 44mm!

just a gorgeous watch with a gorgeous dome at an affordable price

Re: A miniFiddy review - for RWI goers :)

a review for RWI goers? looks like same one posted on RG, and possibly other forums.

sorry to rant, but... i see 98% of posts just mass posted around all the mass forums.. kinda annoying..
not to single you out, everyone does it.. just sayin..

no worries. The two RG and RWI posts are different.

It's the same pics, but if you read the ranting part, it's completely different than what's written over at RG - granted, it's probably the same message. i wrote two huge different rants wow

The dealer exists over at RG, so i wrote one for Him reviewing him.

then i wrote one for here because i started my quest here... that and this is my home. That's why it's for RWI goers. different steam.

also... not every user checks every forum. ie - i rarely visit RWG so if someone has a review and posts it here, kudos to them.

Re: A miniFiddy review - for RWI goers :)

i just read the first long bit and it seemed to be 100% identical.

my issue is just that for people who do read multiple places they see nothing but the same.. again wasnt a jab at you.. just.. weird to me. cross posting and all.

its a nice mini fiddy.. ill grant you that. ive had plenty of problems with the dumbass postal workers.

all packages at my place are to be dropped at apt office with concierge. yet theres one toolbox that delivers packages and leaves notes on my door. hes not even supposed to be allowed in to my bldg.. yet he finds a way in.. leaves a note.. and... inconviences me greatly.. could just drop it at the office like all other mail..

mmmm try reading it over at RG again then. different. not 100% identical, but as i said, it's teh same message so it's probably redundant.

i can see your point. In a way it makes it hard to feel like one person is just cutting and pasting around, spamming across all thte boards. i'm guilty of doing that just to spark some level of conversation with folks of that board.

at the same token, this board would be lacking that one review vital or not, so any rg-haters wouldn't see it

edit: duly noted - i'll rename the thread since technically the original review was for Sead@RG.

everyone does it.. in fact, i just did it today for the first time.. ;)

i just like to see other conversations when i visit other boards.. get a different feel.. different environment, etc.

could be in the minority ;)

Yep, great review, crick! I don't spend any time at RG and spend little time at RWGjr, so thanks for posting it here!

I love the mini-Fiddy. I wish I still had mine, quite frankly.

yep me neither. Never travel to other rep forums so I'm glad it's posted here.

I read every word. I always enjoy reading the personal travails of how our watches arrive. Glad it all work out in the long run crick and glad you could source one of these. I purchased a regular Fiddy from H_U a while back and man they are big. I think a mini would actually fit me a little better. The mini looks good on you. :D

I got into the Pannies rather late but what is the case size of the mini?

Just want to chime in my thanks for the great review. I'm still mulling over what I think about fantasy watches--and am concluding, I think, that anyone who is interested in reps can't be a purist about fantasies--and the thing looks so gorgeous. My wrists are like yours, so I know what you mean. As for the people who complained about your post appearing elsewhere..... No relevance to me. I only read here so I'm greatful for your efforts.

I saw this thread last 2 weeks and decided to go for it....

I've ordered this "mini fiddy" from Silix... however, what i got from him is the 47mm Marina Militare ;-(

I'm still contacting him for this for a few days... he hasn't responded yet.. not really happy rite now.... it says 44mm in the website but actually it's 47mm!

so... please be confirmed if it's really is 44mm

awwww man what a bummer!

is it pretty big on your wrist?

you know what happened to me once before? i confirmed with a dealer once - i cant recall what it was, but i specifically said "not THIS" and dealer said OK... but i still got it anyways.

:(

thaks for the comments guys.

Greatest joy about pannies - strap swapping :D renews the darn thing so easily :)

?Yeh.... u know what? I already bought many straps for 24mm lugs and another new one to wait for this mini fiddy. I've selected the vintage look just to fit with the new watch.....but still..I got the 47mm one.

That's the reason why i went for mini one coz I already got 111h and some 24mm straps. Just wanna add the 'watch' to swap around...

Too bad... however, I'll wait for the solution from this dealer.

Just a follow up. I've got refunded from Silix for this mistake. He's good!

I'll try looking for the mini-Fiddy with Paypal accepted further.
