Seeing a response from my old friend Hooligan today made me think that it was time to take a photo of the Pams I've collected since I discovered this forum. I have to say that I am not a stickler for detail, and therefore quite willing to modify my reps to suit my interest. Thus the Deco Bezel has a new dial and both it and the Titanium have been converted to Destros, the mini-big-Egeziano has been seriously modified, and the mini-Fiddy awaits a re-do when I get the time--for which I have a new dial a set of scissor hands from Jackson Tse. Most of the straps are by Savage and Gunny. If I've learned anything here, it is that the strap makes a Panerai. My first was the DSN 112, then his Titanium, then his Deco Bezel, and his 360, then his Fiddy..... it never stops...... I am actually curious to know about a comparison between Davidson and the new super-reps coming out. When I first joined this forum, Davidson's stuff was the best--but also the most expensive. Is it still?

Nice!!

Loving that destro 6154

I'm assuming that's the Deco Bezel, which I recall is a 3646 or some such name. I had Savage stitch a strap right to it. I like that 1920s-'30s modernist look of chrome and black leather. That was the idea behind the project--and getting rid of the chocolate dial. I'm thinking of reconverting it back to a non-destro because having the bezel upside down looks a bit weird.

nice collection! way more than i have :) afaik DSN only has a few of the 'best' reps now, since H-factory and N-factory have been coming out with some really quality reps.

The bezel is pressure fit in just like a regular one. You can press it out and reposition it or just spin it in the case.

About the DSN thing. I'm a 112 nut and have owned them all. The new stuff coming out is fantastic, but in the long run the Grail 112 I have built is largely DSN based. I like older h to i serial Pams so he is still the man on this. The new roller ball m serial stuff......me no likey. As for the price, well the new stuff is the same price as DSNs stuff....except his prices include shipping wich the others don't. ;)

When you order a new DSN, the movement is simply stunning. All the "new breed" stuff really is small improvements that have as a whole made his 44mm h serial stuff the best IMO.

His Pre-V stuff is also soooo good for the price. You can always improve on a Pre-V but his cost the same as a "good" dial and hands from some other sources.

The true north strong and free! :spike:

I do have to give it to the factories on the new fiddy......that thing is sick!

Here you go. I took some of the styling cues from the Graham 'Overlord'. This was one of those cheap-and-cheerful 47mm Big Egizianos. Can't remember the cost but $125 comes to mind.

Those are great Pam and I guess the point of having rep is to modify them to whatever you want, and you did more than well. No collection can be more personal.

A very nice collection!
That Big Egi is the first one I've seen that I really liked and would buy. That dial is just awesome!!

Thanks very much for your kind words! I feared it was rather..... well.... over-the-top! I have the stuff to convert my 'mini'Fiddy' and plan to get at it any day now (which I've said for about a year).

Frigpig: I don't have a press for removing bezels--and have never done that sort of thing. Is this something I can simply take to my local watchmaker after removing the movement--or do I even need a proper press? How about the plexi crystal? Do I have to remove it before pressing out the bezel?

Nope, I've removed bezels with a PVC coupling I got from home depot and a light tap from a hammer. Decase everything, put the fitting into the case and size it so it just grabs the bezel edge. Place the case in your palm with the crystal facing you palm. Then "tap tap tappy".

A vice is the best press I've used. Just make sure you use easy grips on the jaws and the PVC to protect the cystal. I have a cheaper crystal press and have never used a Bergeron or the like but find them utterly useless.

Excellent! I'll give it a go. I love making fine watchmaking tools from Home Depot bits and bobs :)
