Hi all,

Recently purchased a Pam 438 VSF from a TD.

Watch is awesome but movement seems to be 90s per day slow. Main issue is the gmt hand moves around the dial every 12 hours. Given this is the clone movement and is supposed to function same as gen the GMT hand is supposed to do one rotation per 24 hours. Has anyone else had this issue? I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it myself!

Thanks in advance.

12 hr GMT is correct for the PAM438..Previous 24 hr GMTs were powered by the A7750. As for the timekeeping, did you get timegrapher results for the watch? How long have you had the watch? I'd give it a few days to normalize. Do inform your TD about the matter though.

Thanks Mysterio, I thought all GMT watches are 24 hours but after looking into it further you are correct and the 438 is a ‘12 hour GMT’. There isn’t much on the internet about 12 hour GMTs so I’ll need to work out how to use it 24 hour gmt makes perfect sense to me. I do have timeographer results which indicated + 3s so 90 seconds is not very good. I’ll retest though and see how I go before I contact TD.

In regards to the VSF 438, I thought I had the latest version but I’ve now seen that there is a fully blacked out movement as well. Mine is all blacked out except for behind the hairspring so is mine v1 or v2? Is there now a vsf v3? Most TD’s have this as latest, best etc etc.

What's called a V3 is the one with the completely blacked out movement. You have a V2. The only difference is the aesthetic of the portion behind the balance wheel being blacked out.

Thanks for confirming Mysterio. Its seems that most TD's only have, or only sell the V2. V3 seems harder to find. I'm happy with V2 but if the price was the same would have obviously preferred V3.
