I believe they are referring to a small flat spot ground into the case between the lugs which allows room for your various wrist straps you will put on your watch.
yup. Depends on the model. Some are meant to have them...some arent. which model are you wanting to know about?
201a you should have NO strap notch.
old school el case or buy a 111J for the case. Round the hex tube. Drill the lugs and that is really good for the money
