I just received this watch yesterday. As much as I know I'm going to regret this, I've decided to C&R, and put the funds towards another watch project.

1959 6542 GMT Red Depth.
A great deal of time and effort has gone into this watch in order to create an authentic looking 6542 GMT. No one part of the watch is in its original state, every part has been modified in some way in order to achieve the desired result.
The dial is customized to give a radium burn effect to its surface.
The hands have also been customized to give better, more accurate proportions and the date disc has also been 'aged'.
There is patina on the case, representing a very well preserved watch dating from 1959.
The bezel insert is bespoke and hand painted.
The crystal retaining ring has been replaced with a bespoke ring to give more stability and durability to the bezel assembly.
The bracelet will fit wrists from 18 cm - 20 cm. If your wrist is larger/smaller then you need to tell me before I ship so that I can add/subtract links from the bracelet.
Cost breakdown:
Gen' spec' case from my supplier in Vietnam. Date stamp and case back engravings for 1959. Nickel plated brass bezel ring : $850
True gilt 6542 Vietnam dial : $295
High quality 7206 rivet bracelet from my supplier in Vietnam: $250
Rolex T116 crystal, lightly used, repolished: $120
Hand set: $70
Asian clone movement with GMT module, non-independently adjustable 24 hour hand, as per gen': $120
Roulette DWO: $20
Period correct Rolex 6mm crown and new Swiss grade tube: $140
Polished gen' spec' 2mm spring bars: $15
Bespoke movement ring machined from solid brass: $45
Improved crystal retaining ring machined from 316 steel: $60
Total: $1985 = 1825 euros
Build costs:
Hand painted bespoke bezel insert.
Case work - refinish, 'age'/patina.
'Ageing/patina/radium burn' to dial, DWO & hand set.
Assembly, adjustment, movement regulation: 295 euros
