6497 Widning Issue

I'm hoping someone can help.

I have now had two movements with the same issue.

When I wind the movememt is seems as if no tension is being stored, and the hands spin as I wind. I can't fathom out what the issue is. Any ideas?

Sounds like a problem with the escapement. There is definitely something major FUBAR when your movement starts doing this.

It could be the stem isn't engaging because the set screw has come loose. It's pretty easy to fix if that's the issue, just have to remove the case back, and make sure the set screw is properly tightened- check out this thread for removing the stem and re-inserting it:

No, this is not a stem issue as it is described. I have seen this and fixed this first hand.

Agree. Does sounds like an issue with the escapement, or atleast somewhat related.

Cheaper to replace the movement than to repair it.
