After long time looking for an Ang 8, this one finally came up. Obtaining this movment has been an obsession of mine - and could not luck into one on various eBay items (and frankly, I lack the knowledge to mod one or get it to work if it's not motoring). Hence, I do feel very fortunate today! Lots of customs trauma - will post on this in due course - but I don't want to tinge the pleasure of posting this w/ negative vibes from that hurdle overcome.

Those that know their PAM Historia know that the "Little Egyptian" came with a Rolex 16-ligne / 15j Rolex 618, and not the Ang 8 as shown here.

The Ang 8 days was, however, a gen movement in the 47mm PAMs from 1940s-50s (leaving aside the new mvmt that uses the name) - see the history sticky.

So, this one is a unique historical interpretation which was wrought by ENZO (many thanks for all that detail & artisanship mate).

The Ang is set in a screw-crown 6154 case with a choc RADIOMIR PANERAI Base dial.
It has an accurate Tropic plexiglass dome crystal up front as well as a plexiglass display back. The watch comes with an ENZO hand made strap using WWII-era leather and a GPF buckle.

Here's a gen w/ faded dial:

I will do this superb piece justice (photography) later, but as I'm about to leave for hols (g'day CJ!) these are my first quick shots:

gorgeous watch brad, and a beautiful movement as well. How old do you think it is?

You're gonna love this watch, and it'll likely grow on you the more you wear it! Congrats on a fine purchase and wear it in good health!

Thanks mate! Man, I just LOVE this beauty already - the choc colour really grows on me - makes me think I do need a 036 (but not for a while, this really did drain available funds!)

The movement is over 40 years' old, AFAIK. I know from CJ that when you first have one of these it's a bit freaky, I mean, it just keeps GOING .... :) There was an older mvmt .. but this one was the smoother runner.

cheers - BBB

 No mate - I think ENZO took the PAM bug to a new level! I mean, this guy is the PAM-Man.

But I have taken my funds' flows out to a whole new level - thankfully wife only got onto landscaping plan (= - $$$) after I had remitted funds

I'm off to the Pac N.W. - at some stage I will see CJ - then we are going to have the best PAM GTG!

Will hook up when back, cheers mate - BBB

Awesome. What did it cost? $3,000?

Gentlemen never ask for the price...:)

@Brad
Mate, "WTF is 8-day Angelus PAM doing on Aussie wrist ?!?!" LOL !

She's an absolute beauty, the words fail to describe the history, style, panache and enigma this watch embodies. Big thumbs-up to Enzo, one of a kind - for sure.

Treasure it, but don't baby it, wear it proud !

cheers from downunder,
babola

I dunno mate - I can agree on so many levels..but also, I was in Firenze in '97, backbacking, and I espied this small store front, 'Orologeria...', ya wander in, ya can't afford a thing .. but you like what you see.

That's what I said last time I was in 'Vegas!

Couldn't have said it any better - these are an enigma! They stood ignored, for so long - was it really Sly that took them out of the shade?

Cynically, good marketing - and Post-V bravura.

But I like to think we 'woke up'.

And yes, this one will - is - being worn. I pity those who buy a rare car and never drive it - antique machines need to be used to fully appreciate / understand them,

cheers - BBB
