Just sharing my work on getting a genuine balance to work in the clone movement. The clone 240 balance staff is much taller & larger than that in the genuine. In order to make this work, the old staff is cut and removed from the balance. Measurements are taken of the existing staff in the clone 240. A new balance staff is turned to the required pivot length for proper endshake, with the shoulder & hub size to fit the genuine.
Finding a proper hairspring & vibrating it was a bit frustrating. A new terminal bend must also be made to properly center the staff.
