Really the only one that looks like the crazy horse hide is the one on the far left, maybe the one on the far right as well but not quite. Any more info on these?

'Crazy Horse' term/name has been abused greatly in recent months.
This was even even more evident after Greg ran out of his original CH hide last year. The so called new "CH" leather he uses now ISN'T the same as original CH, and it now it seems to come in different finishes/grain textures and colors. Original CH hide was one of a kind, very distinctive in appearance, plyability and touch.
Greg said himself last year that the original CH leather he had was deleted from the original hide tannery line, and that's what happened. The new "CH" leather is sourced from another place now.
Don't get this the wrong way, he makes some great looking leather straps, but CH they ain't no more. Close they may be, but not the same.
Anyhow, those 5 start you show up there are really stunners, all of them !

Like I said the one on the far left looks like the original hide. I bought it with black stitch for a PVD 195 from DSN. That piece is now in loving hands of our friend razor reg. Maybe he can get us a pic to compare.

I dunno, Sean. My old school Crazy Horse didn't have those large dark areas like the strap on the far left. I'm not convinced that any of them are the OG Crazy Horse hide...
I do remember when Greg was selling that middle strap, though. Something about "prehistoric alligator" pattern. That one and the one on either side of it are definitely not made from the real Crazy Horse hide.

zarkon, no one is doubting they are GSD straps. They all obviously are. We're trying to figure if any of them are of his original Crazy Horse hide. Not every Greg strap is a Crazy Horse strap. :wink: You have 1 strap shown there that appears to be Greg's *new* Crazy Horse hide and one that may or may not be an original Crazy Horse. The other three, while they are certainly from Greg, they are absolutely not Crazy Horse straps. That doesn't make them better or worse, it just makes them not Crazy Horse straps. To be honest, I wasn't blown away by the Crazy Horse strap I had. It was nice, but it's not like it was miles better than any other strap out there...
@Hooligan. I'm with you on that. I loved the color but the build quality was not up to par with my MP's or GEF's, the sides got really roughed up in a very short time frame.
